FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA • Guidelines for exhibition proposals, participation and registration
We invite you to participate in the FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA FESTIVAL, which takes place September 1 - 30, every year, in San Antonio, and the Texas Hill Country. If you live in the San Antonio/Texas Hill Country area, the easiest way to participate in the FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA FESTIVAL is for you to organize your own exhibit or event which should open, take place, or be on display anytime between September 1 - 30.
If organizing your own exhibit or event, please make sure you register the exhibit or event with our festival by printing, filling out, and mailing us the FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA ENTRY FORM, which is available on this web site as a Print-ready PDF.
If you'd like to propose an exhibit for one of the many public and private exhibition venues that collaborate with FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA every year, send us a portfolio with 20 to 40 images (slides, prints, JPEGs on a Mac CD) from the proposed body of work as soon as possible, and we will present your images to participating venues. Most exhibition spaces schedule their events up to a year in advance and your proposals could be considered for future exhibits. Be advised that we cannot guarantee exhibition opportunities for anyone.
Your proposals will also be considered for our SAFOTO WEB GALLERIES.
Web exhibits are important to us and are strongly encouraged.

FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA REGISTRATION DEADLINES
June 1 is for confirmation of your participation in the FOTOSEPTIEMBRE
USA FESTIVAL.
July 1 is our final deadline for all ENTRY
FORMS with exhibit/event listing
information, fees, and images.
Early entries are always better.
Please send your entry forms and other information by US Mail, Fed-Ex,
UPS, etc.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT E-MAIL ENTRIES. Use e-mail only to confirm delivery
of materials.
PLEASE USE OUR FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA ENTRY FORM and read instructions carefully. Entries that do not follow these guidelines will not be included in our festival listings and fees will not be returned
There are two options for exhibit and event listings (see Listing Options below) on our web site and in our promotional materials.
ALL FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA PARTICIPANTS MUST DISPLAY THE FESTIVAL LOGO IN PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS AND AT EXHIBITION VENUES. You can DOWNLOAD THE FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA LOGO from our web site or you can request that we send the logo via e-mail.
LISTING OPTIONS
- Basic Listings are free and do not include images or detailed exhibit information.
- Premium Listings include images and detailed information, and require a fee: $200 for the first listing and $100 for each additional listing.
BASIC LISTING
Basic Listings for the web, printed program and other promotional materials.
Basic Listings (1 - 4) are free and include the following:
- Title of exhibit, event, lecture or conference. One title per venue.
FOR MULTIPLE EXHIBIT ENTRIES PLEASE USE SEPARATE ENTRY FORMS. - Name(s) of artist(s) or participant(s). Please list clearly.
- Name of venue. Address. Phone number. Web site. E-mail, etc.
- Exhibit opening and closing dates. Please include opening reception date for chronological reference.
PREMIUM LISTING
Premium Listings (numbers 5 - 9) require a fee: $200 for the first listing,
$100 for each additional listing.
Premium Listings include all the Basic Listing information plus the following:
- Exhibit opening reception times.
- Exhibit viewing hours.
- Contact person. Web site. E-mail address.
- Additional information. Curatorial, technical, related events, performances, etc. (optional).
- One image for reproduction. Send digital files on CD or 100 MB ZIP
Disk. Photoshop TIFF or JPEG files only. Digital files should be 8
x 10 inches at 300 DPI. Macintosh readable files only. Prints are OK
too, no larger than 8 x 10 inches. Reproduction quality slides are
also acceptable. Send a choice of images if possible.
Received images or CD's will become part of our archives and will not be returned.
DO NOT E-MAIL IMAGES!
All FOTOSEPTIEMBRE USA exhibits and events are extensively and equally promoted. Make sure we receive your exhibit information and images by the July deadline at the latest. Early entries are always better.
The core promotional support for the festival is web based through our dedicated web site, www,fotoseptiembreusa.com and www.safotofestival.com. We support our web site with periodic promotional mailings.
For audience comfort and accessibility, increased attendance, and cross-promotional opportunities for participating venues; we encourage the scheduling of exhibit openings by geographical location. Please contact us for detailed information.
